We generated a secret number and published its fingerprint. A fingerprint cannot be worked backwards, but once we reveal the number you can check it produces this exact fingerprint, which proves we did not swap it.
drand is a public randomness beacon run by independent organisations. We named this exact future round in advance, so the value we would use did not exist yet and nobody, including us, could pick it. Look it up yourself at api.drand.sh.
