Your entries come from the listed price of the items you buy, not from what you pay after a discount code. Entries are worked out for one unit of an item, then multiplied by how many of that item you ordered. They are recorded once your payment clears, and every rate is locked in at the moment you place the order.
The calculation, step by step
- Start with the listed price of each item, before any discount code. Tax and shipping are not included and never earn entries.
- If the whole dollar part of that price ends in a 9, it counts as the next dollar up. That rounding is always in your favour.
- Work out the entries for one unit of the item.
- Round that per unit figure to the nearest whole entry. Nearest means it can round down as well as up.
- Multiply the rounded per unit figure by the quantity you ordered, then add up every line in the order.
A discount code lowers your price, not your entries
Entries are always calculated from the listed price. A discount code changes what you pay and nothing else. There is also a free entry route by mail with no purchase necessary, and the Official Rules set out the exact method to use.
What gets added on top
- Cart subtotal tiers. Each tier your subtotal reaches adds extra entries on top of what the items already earned. Subtotal here means those same listed prices, before any code.
- Bonus entry codes. One code applies per order, and it is automatically the one that earns you the most. A code can multiply the entries your items earned and add a flat amount on top. The Official Rules set the per person limit for a giveaway.
- Fast Track passes. These are one-off digital purchases that earn entries on their own price. A pass is not a membership and gives you no ongoing status.
Rates are frozen when you place the order
Whatever the rate was at the moment you ordered is the rate you keep. If a rate changes later, entries you have already earned do not move, up or down.
Where to check your count
Sign in at account.shftdco.com and open My Entries from the account side navigation. It shows the giveaway that is open with a live countdown, the entries you hold, your odds, and your individual entry numbers, plus an awaiting draw section for closed giveaways and a past giveaways section. There are also summaries on your order list, your profile, and each order page, so you can see what one order earned. The account area is read-only. You can view your entries, not change them.
Two things trip people up. Entries appear once your payment clears, not when the order ships, so give it a moment after checkout. And sign-in has to use the same email address that was on the order. If you checked out with one email and signed in with another, those entries will not show. Odds do not appear until you hold entries, because your odds are your entries divided by the whole pool, and that pool keeps growing while a giveaway is open. Every entry is also recorded permanently, each with its own entry number. If the math still looks wrong, email support@shftdco.com with your order number and we will reply within 24 hours.
