A bonus entry code adds extra entries to an order. You type it into the Coupon Code box in your cart, the same box you would use for a money off code. Only one bonus entry code counts per order, and it is picked automatically. If more than one code is on the order, the one that earns you the most entries is the one that gets used.
Only one code counts per order
You do not need to compare codes yourself. The effect of a code is fixed as it stood when you placed the order, and the winning code is recorded once the order is paid. The other codes are ignored for entry purposes. A code that stops working later does not change an order you already placed. Splitting one order into several smaller ones to use more codes has a cost. Each order is worked out on its own, and a smaller order earns less from the cart subtotal tiers.
What a code can do
A bonus entry code can multiply the entries the products themselves earn, and it can add a flat number of entries on top. Some codes do one of those. Some do both. Your cart shows the code and its effect on your entries once it is applied, so you can check before you pay. If the number does not move, the code may not be combining with another code on the cart.
A money off code is a different thing
A money off discount code lowers what you pay. It never lowers your entries. Entries are worked out from the listed price per unit, multiplied by the quantity, so paying less does not touch them. Tax and shipping never earn entries either. Both kinds of code go into the same Coupon Code box, so read what the cart tells you after you apply one.
When two codes will not sit together
A bonus entry code will not always sit alongside a money off code. If the two cannot be combined, the cart says so and one of them stops counting. A code the cart has switched off earns you nothing. So read the cart after you apply a second code. If your entries figure did not move, take one code off and use the other. Which code keeps working depends on how each one is set up, so check the cart rather than assume.
A code is not a membership
A code is not a membership and it does not give you a tier, a status or any ongoing perk. SHFTD does not sell a membership of any kind. A code affects the order you use it on. It does not carry over to your next order.
Limits, and the free entry route
The Official Rules set how many entries one person can hold in a giveaway, so read them before you plan around a code. There is also a free entry route by mail, with no purchase necessary. The Official Rules give the exact method for it.
To see what you actually hold, sign in at account.shftdco.com and open My Entries from the side navigation. The email you sign in with has to match the email on the order. Entries are recorded when the order is paid, not when it ships, and once they are awarded they are never removed. If a code will not apply, or your entries do not look right, email support@shftdco.com with your order number and we reply within 24 hours.
