The winner is picked by a random draw that neither you nor SHFTD can steer. Before entries open we publish the digital fingerprint of a secret number, and we name the exact future pulse of drand, a public randomness beacon run by independent organizations, that we are then forced to use. After entries close, the revealed secret is combined with that pulse to land on one position in the entry pool, and whoever holds that position wins.
The draw runs live and in public. Every entry keeps its own ticket number in a permanent record, and after the draw the result is published so it can be checked against it.
Where your entries come from
Entries are recorded once your payment clears, not when your order ships. They are worked out from the listed price of each item, per unit, times the quantity you bought, so a discount code lowers what you pay but never lowers your entries. Tax and shipping do not earn entries. Every rate is frozen at the moment you place the order, so a later change never rewrites entries you already hold. Once entries are awarded they are never removed.
- The per unit figure is rounded to the nearest whole entry before it is multiplied by quantity, so it can round down as well as up.
- Any whole dollar price ending in 9 counts as the next dollar up, in your favour.
- Cart subtotal tiers add extra entries on top.
- One bonus entry code applies per order, whichever code earns you the most. A code can multiply that order's entries and add a flat amount on top. The Official Rules set the limit per person across a giveaway.
- Fast Track passes are digital purchases that earn entries on their own price. They are not a membership and carry no ongoing status.
Where to see your own entries
Your entries, your odds and your entry numbers are on the My Entries page in your account at account.shftdco.com, reachable from the account side navigation. It covers the active giveaway with a live countdown, giveaways that have closed and are awaiting the draw, and past giveaways. There are also summaries on your order list, on your profile, and on each individual order showing what that order earned. The account area is read only, so you can view entries but not change them.
What your odds mean
Your odds are your entries divided by every entry in the pool, which you can read as a percentage or as roughly one chance in so many. The pool keeps growing while a giveaway is open, so your odds move until entries close. Odds only appear in your account once you hold entries. Good odds are still not a win. For example, if you hold one entry in every five, someone else wins four times out of five.
Do I have to buy anything to enter?
No. There is a free entry route by mail and no purchase is necessary. The Official Rules set out the exact method, and they are the only place to follow for it.
Entries are attached to the email address used on the order. Sign in with that same address, because if you ordered with one email and signed in with another, those entries will not show. If something still looks wrong, email support@shftdco.com and we reply within 24 hours.
