How SHFTD fits and how to pick your size

Check the size guide on the product page before you order. How to measure, what to do between sizes, and how a size exchange works.

Check the size guide on the product page before you order. Each chart includes a fit note for that garment, and the note tells you how that piece runs and whether to size up if you are between two sizes. That note is the most reliable answer, because it is written from the measurements of the blank we are printing on.

Where to find the size guide

Apparel product pages with a size selector have a Size guide button next to it. On a kit page, every piece you choose a size for has its own Size guide button. The button opens the chart that product is linked to, and on a product page it shows only the sizes that product sells. There are two tabs. Measurements is the chart itself. How to measure shows a diagram and marks where each measurement is taken.

Measure something you already own

The fastest way to get it right is to measure a piece you already own. Take one that fits the way you want, lay it flat, and measure it. Then compare it against the chart, row by row. Every figure on our charts is a garment measurement taken flat, in inches, not a body measurement. Each chart also lists a tolerance, so a small difference between two pieces of the same size is normal.

The rows change with the garment. Tops are measured by body length and chest width across the flat garment. Joggers are measured by waist, hip, inseam and leg opening. The How to measure tab shows exactly where each one is taken.

Still between two sizes

Choose by how you want to wear it. Take the larger size for a roomier streetwear fit. Stay with the smaller one if you want it closer to the body. The fit note on that chart will say if the piece is cut boxy or runs small, which usually settles it. If you would rather ask before you order, or you are not sure the chart matches the piece you are looking at, email support@shftdco.com. We reply within 24 hours.

Washing and shrinking

Care instructions are different for different items, so read the Care tab on the product page for the piece you are buying. Caps are one example, they are spot cleaned rather than machine washed. Whatever the item, pick your size from the chart rather than ordering a size up to leave room for shrinking, and check that same Care tab for anything to know about the first wash.

If the size is wrong when it arrives

You have 30 days from receiving your order to ask for a size exchange, subject to availability. Email support@shftdco.com and we will reply within 24 hours. If the size you need is not available, support will tell you what the options are. You cover the shipping to send the item back, and we cover sending the replacement out.

Everything physical we sell is made to order, which is why we run exchanges rather than open ended returns. It also means your replacement is produced from scratch. Allow the usual production time of 1 to 3 business days, and up to 5 to 7 business days during a rush of orders, before it is handed to the carrier.

If the item is faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, contact support first and we will sort it out. You do not pay to return a SHFTD mistake.

Either way, the entries from that order stay exactly as they are. Entries are recorded when your order is paid, and they are never removed, including after an exchange. You can see what you hold on the My Entries page at account.shftdco.com. Sign in with the same email as your order.
