What condition an item has to be in

Unworn, unwashed, tags attached. What that means in practice, and what we do not ask for.

An item coming back for a size exchange has to be unworn, unwashed and in its original condition with tags attached. That is the whole condition. Here is what it means in practice.

What is fine

  • Trying it on. That is the point.
  • Opening the mailer, unfolding the piece, and putting it back.
  • A crease from being folded in transit.
  • Not having the original mailer any more. We do not need it.

What stops an exchange

  • The tags have been cut off.
  • It has been washed, even once, even gently.
  • It has been worn out of the house.
  • There is deodorant, makeup, smoke, perfume or pet hair on it.
  • It has been altered, hemmed or customised.

Why the line is drawn there

Everything is made to order and there is no warehouse behind us. An exchanged piece has to be in a state where it can go to the next person as new. Once a garment has been washed or worn it cannot, and the cost of that lands on a very small operation.

We do not ask for the packaging

Original packaging is not required. Do not keep a mailer in a cupboard for 30 days on our account.

The one exception is a parcel that arrived damaged. In that case a photo of the outer box helps with the carrier claim. A photo, not the box itself.

If a piece has a fault

Condition rules are about fit exchanges. If a piece arrived faulty, or a hand pressed print fails within 30 days of delivery after normal care, that is our problem to fix and the condition rules above are not the test. Tell us what happened and send a photo.
