Once a piece has been worn or washed we cannot exchange it for a different size. That applies even if it was one wear, or one gentle cycle.
Why
Everything is made to order and there is no warehouse behind us. An exchanged piece has to go to the next person as new. Once it has been worn or washed it cannot, and that cost lands on a very small operation. It is the same rule everywhere, we just would rather say it clearly than hide it in a policy.
Try it on first, before anything else
Open the mailer, try the piece on, and check the fit against the size guide on the product page. Keep the tags on until you are sure. Trying it on is not wearing it.
If the fit is wrong, start the exchange straight away rather than washing it first.
If you think it is a fault rather than a fit problem
That is a different route, and the condition rules above are not the test for it.
A fault means the piece arrived defective, or a hand pressed print cracked, peeled or lifted within 30 days of delivery after normal care. Tell us what happened, when it happened, and send a photo. We will replace the piece.
Heat is what usually damages a print, so it is worth checking how it was washed and dried. Cold wash, inside out, hang dry or tumble low, and never iron directly on the print.
Beyond 30 days
Get in touch anyway. We will look at it case by case. A print that fails after a season of hard wear is different from one that fails on the second wash, and we would rather look at it than turn you away by policy.
